Disability Support Workers

We have a casual positions available - from providing individual supports in people’s homes to supporting people to participate in their community.


People with a disability who want support to live and participate in the community get that support from Allevia staff. The support provided is what people want and need – delivered in groups or individually.

As a disability support worker you will:

  • Support people to explore their interests and try new things.
  • Support people to develop the skills they need to live as independently as possible.
  • Support some people to attend to their daily personal care needs.
  • Support people to be in their community and participate in community activities and events.


We are currently looking for creative, open minded, compassionate, and motivated people to join our support team.

Previous experience supporting people with a disability is an advantage but not a deal breaker.

You will need to have good communication skills (written and verbal) as you will be supporting people with varying communication support needs.

You will need to hold a current Australian driver’s license.

Formal qualifications in Disability, Community Services or Welfare are not necessary but are an advantage, We provide some training but you will need to be willing to undertake some studies in your own time to build your knowledge and skills.

As a support worker at Allevia you will:

  • Work with the client record management system and use Microsoft Office 365 applications

  • A member of a multidisciplinary team
  • Learning and dev eloping your knowledge and skills as you work
  • Contributing to the lives of people who cannot live without support from others


People with a disability come to Allevia for support. Other people in the community who provide support also come to Allevia for support.

We provide support based on what people ask us to do for them and with them.

After you are successful at getting an interview, you will be supported to complete the NDISWC Worker Screening process.
