All Together Now’s (ATN) vision is for a racially equitable Australia. To achieve this, our mission is to educate Australians about racism. ATN was established in 2010, and after leading the organisation for over 11 years the Founder/Managing Director has decided to step down from the role. This is a rare opportunity to make your mark and challenge racism in Australia.

Purpose of the role

All Together Now’s CEO is responsible for leading the organisation including:

• Providing leadership and vision;
• Establishing and nurturing strategic relationships with partners, ambassadors, supporters, politicians and the media;
• Identifying and establishing opportunities for generating income particularly earned income and government grants;
• Managing the operations of the organisation, including managing finances and overseeing projects; and

• Acting as media spokesperson on behalf of the organisation.

Selection Criteria

• Professional leadership experience, preferably in a small organisation
• Governance experience (e.g. reporting to a Board or committee against KPIs, risks, budget) and ensuring compliance with relevant sector regulations
• Entrepreneurial, with experience of establishing and running a profitable income-generating project
• Be an experienced and confident media spokesperson and ability to proactively seek media opportunities
• Track record in identifying, establishing and maintaining productive working relationships

Desirable Criteria

If you have any of these please also mention it in your cover letter:

• A post-graduate degree in a relevant discipline
• A solid understanding of racism and anti-racism, gained in part through lived experience
• Consulting experience, i.e. providing advice for business or government clients
• Experience in writing successful funding applications/grants
• Experience in developing policy recommendations on a social or environmental justice issue
• Solid experience of creating and running marketing campaigns, such as public education campaigns seeking to advance social justice issues

Time commitment, salary and location

This is a big role in a small organisation! As such, All Together Now’s current Managing Director will work alongside you for the initial part of your employment (~3 months) to help you succeed in this role over the longer term.

This position will initially work 3 days per week. Full time salary is equivalent to $110,000 per annum + superannuation + leave loading + EAP. Hours may be increased as the position’s workload and income-generation capacity increases.

All Together Now has a national remit with its CEO ideally based in or near Sydney to meet face-to-face with team members on a monthly basis. However we will consider applications from elsewhere in Australia for exceptional candidates.
