Can you help us raise the standard of disability care in Australia?

A LITTLE ABOUT US:

Ally Assist has a core team of 8 and a workforce of 300+ therapy assistants (and growing fast). Our vision is to make it simple and human for people and families to get more therapy hours to achieve their goals. Visit out website on www.allyassist.com.au.

It can be challenging coming up with a therapy plan for a client when it’s likely that in-between sessions the plan won’t be utilised. Many people with disabilities and their families do not have the time and resources to practice their therapy plans between sessions. Waitlists to find allied health professionals (AHPs) are reaching critical levels, and those that do eventually manage to find support struggle to manage the collaboration between team members.

We want you to help us develop a new way to empower people living with a disability to reach their goals. We are bringing new AHPs into the disability sector AND increasing the capability of each AHP by working with therapy assistants. In the same way a hospital Speechie or OT might have some university students helping with their caseload, we want to bring the same to the community setting.

By having short waitlists, intuitive tech, seamless collaboration and empowered users, we can raise the standard of disability care.

ABOUT OUR PLATFORM:

As well as building our team, we’re building technology that does two things:

  • makes it easy for our team to do their best work, and
  • empowers people living with a disability and their families to empower themselves.

We have developed an online system that helps you easily find and manage your clients, as well as stay up to date with sessions your therapy assistants have been doing. With your help, our aim is to continue building and refining this to add progress tracking, reporting, games and anything else we come up with!

HERE'S WHAT YOU'LL BE UP TO:

You’ll be working directly with our founders to design the future of work for community Speechies and OTs.

You’ll be splitting up your time between the following:

  • Managing your own clients
  • Supporting our therapy assistants
  • Training new graduates, and
  • Building a workplace culture we can be proud of.

Our ultimate goal is to create a workplace that supports our Speechies and OTs, and empowers them to empower our clients and their families.

We're looking for reliable, self-aware people who are keen to collaborate and grow themselves professionally and personally. The ability to champion our values matters to us; we care about our team culture and you'll be joining a group of compassionate individuals who want each other to be happy and successful.

A BIT ABOUT YOU:

We know that people with all of these skills do not exist! But hopefully you can help us with some of these. As long as you’re excited to build the best possible therapy experience for all our stakeholders, we’ll work together to develop your skills. In an ideal world you’ll have:

  • Completed a degree recognised by SPA or AHPRA
  • Minimum 2 years experience as a Speechie or OT (you’ll need to feel comfortable formulating plans and supporting juniors)
  • A strong understanding of your therapy domain, and be able to deliver therapy within a person’s natural environment and routine.
  • Knowledge around how to prepare accurate and timely NDIS reports.
  • The ability to touch base with our team every now and then. Our office is located in South East Melbourne (Clayton), however this may change to be more centrally located post lockdowns.
  • Great communication skills and fluency in English
  • The legal right to work in Australia

IN THE FIRST 30 DAYS WORKING WITH US, YOU’LL MOST LIKELY:

  • Meet with a person living with a disability and understand which existing supports you can use and what you can add to empower them to reach their goals
  • Be able to identify the facilitators and barriers within a person's environment (attitudinal, social and physical) that will impact their goals
  • Prepare accurate and timely NDIS reports
  • Support a team of therapy assistants for each of your clients, including team meetings, phone or video check-ins, note reviews and guidance
  • Work with our tech team to begin developing the technology to make your work easy

HERE ARE SOME REASONS WHY YOU MIGHT LIKE TO JOIN US:

  • You’ll be helping to build a company that truly addresses some of the large systemic issues in disability care in Australia.
  • You’ll be co-creating your own work culture with us and dictating what our future therapists' day-to-day will look like
  • Get in at the ground floor at a fast-growing healthcare startup that cares deeply about acting with integrity and empowering our users (see our Google reviews).
  • You’ll help us build a workplace culture you’ll love working in.
  • We’re all about ‘filling your cup’ outside of work -- and take a unique approach to personal development and learning opportunities.
  • Opportunity to work remotely and at our office.
  • Other benefits (PD, laptops, phones, etc.) will be worked out with you
