Reporting to the Movement Manager and in partnership with the Membership Coordinator (Retention and Development) and the wider movement team, this position is primarily responsible for maintaining a diverse marketing mix for the acquisition of members to ensure that AIA membership numbers continue to grow. This role works to develop creative approaches to continue to inspire people to become members and commit to AI Australia’s objectives and 2025 vision.

Supported by the data team, this role will also work to provide analysis on our membership product performance and work strategically with the broader organisation to make sure that membership is embedded into other areas of our work. The successful applicant will possess strong project management and data administration experience and familiarity with human rights issues and social change methods and tactics, including preferred experience of mass mobilisation, activism and organising techniques.

This role will be responsible for:

  • Under the strategic direction of the Movement Manager, coordinate the recruitment of AI Australia’s members to implement the membership strategy
  • Use a wide range of marketing and data analytics tools to support with attracting new members as well as to understand and respond to any specific membership trends
  • Work closely with the movement team to help deliver the membership goals outlined in the activism strategy
  • Continue to improve our membership product to build a strong community of members
  • Report to the Movement Manager and Activism and Membership Committee on membership data to track and respond to membership targets and shifts in relation to member acquisition and growth
  • Work closely with colleagues across the organisation to ensure a seamless experience for members that integrates with other elements of supporter and activism journeys

Selection Criteria

  1. Please provide an example of your experience of developing strategies to drive growth outcomes.
  2. Describe your experience of managing projects towards achievement of agreed outcomes.
  3. Please describe how you prioritise your work when you have to manage multiple projects/stakeholders at the same time.
  4. Give an example of a time where you were required to speak directly with key stakeholders/donors/customers to motivate action, facilitate connection, gather insights and/or provide feedback.
  5. Please outline any experience you have in working with a CRM.
