AMRRIC (Animal Management in Rural and Remote Indigenous Communities) is a national not-for-profit organisation that works with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities to improve the health and welfare of their companion animals. We work strongly by collaboration with a range of stakeholders and undertake and advocate for a One Health One Wellbeing approach.
The Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Advisory Committee, established in 2017, brings the voice of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities into the planning, design, delivery, and evaluation of AMRRIC’s discrete animal management services and programs. The Advisory Committee’s purpose is to provide advice and support to the AMRRIC Board and program operations.
AMRRIC is seeking expressions of interest for vacancies on their Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Advisory Committee. There are up to nine positions on the Advisory Committee which seeks to have representation for Indigenous communities nationally incorporating a range of views, experience, skills, gender and geography.
The Advisory Committee currently has 3 vacant positions and is seeking someone who is interested and willing to travel to community and actively engage in the activities and meetings of the Committee. To enhance the governance structure support the committee provide to AMRRIC the Advisory Committee are particularly interested in recruiting persons who:
