• Salary range at $85,120 to $91,580 (depending upon qualifications and experience) + superannuation + generous salary packaging benefits of up to $18,500.

Who we are

Anchor’s integrated approach addresses complex needs and circumstances so that people experiencing or at risk of homelessness can connect, learn, develop, and thrive.

We are always looking for new initiatives to support young people and offer a range of services including:

• Accommodation support for youth Living in Anchor’s accredited Foyer (16-21 years of age) and transitional housing settings.
• Private rental brokerage to assist with living independently (up to 25 years of age).
• Family reconciliation services.
• Holistic case management with young people in Transitional Housing and the Lilydale Youth Foyer.

Anchor prides itself on working from the theoretical frameworks underpinning Advantaged Thinking, Trauma Informed Practice and strengths-based case management where the voice of clients is considered a priority to informing our practice and service development.

Who we’re looking for

We are looking for a worker who is passionate about working with young people, who believes in young people and their aspirations, the Foyer model, and Advantaged thinking. Someone who will bring enthusiasm and energy to the role.

To be successful in this role, you will great at building relationships and engaging with young people and their families, and community stakeholders.

We are looking for someone who has an advanced diploma or degree qualification (preferably Youth Work, Social Work, Psychology and/or related behavioural sciences) and has experience working in a youth service or similar role.

What you’ll be doing

As a Youth Development Worker, you will provide support to youth and their families placed in Transitional Housing and the Lilydale Youth Foyer. You will:

• Assist young people and their families to access accommodation options appropriate to their needs.
• Engage with Anchor’s internal youth programs and crisis response team to ensure a continuity of service for clients.
• Develop training and resources to assist young people in completing their education and building the tools and skills for life.
• Work directly with community assets to provide enhanced opportunities for all young people accessing Anchor.

You will enjoy working collaboratively and have the capacity to exercise professional judgement to ensure excellent outcomes for young people and the team.
