Anglicare NSW
  • Work for a highly regarded not-for-profit
  • Generous salary packaging available
  • Embrace our continuous focus on learning, development, and upskilling plus plenty of support
  • Rewarding role where your actions create positive outcomes for young people

About us

Welcome to Anglicare NSW. Our core mission is to break the cycle of intergenerational poverty for children, young people and families. We have a particular focus on serving vulnerable communities in the ACT and regional, rural NSW. We're proud of the dedication we continue to show to our community. But we can't continue to do that without an experienced Senior Permanency Practitioner people just like you.

We have an outstanding opportunity for a Senior Permanency Practitioner to join a well-respected and longstanding not-for-profit faith-based organisation, whose focus it is to empower our team with high-level support to ensure we deliver positive outcomes for young people.

About the role

In joining our team, you will support the restoration of children and young people to their parents or the placement of children and young people within their kinship networks. You will work intensively with parents, families and kinship carers to provide permanent placements for their children and young people with the ultimate goal of their exit from the statutory care system. The position will implement practice frameworks that support families and kin to increase their parenting capacity and to provide sustained protective and nurturing care for their children.

About you

Could you be the perfect addition to this high-performing team?

If so, you will have extensive knowledge within the NSW Children and Young Persons (Care and protection) Act 1998 and experience in inter-generational trauma, which impacts Aboriginal children and young people, their families and communities.

Your intimate knowledge of the effects of trauma and abuse, attachment issues and behaviour management will serve you well in this role. You will also be tertiary-qualified and comfortable in working independently to ensure we're continuously driving positive outcomes.

You also have an open Driver's license and Working with Children's check (don't worry if you don't have that yet, we can assist if necessary). If you've got a First Aid certificate, we'd love to hear about that, too.

You will be required to undertake personality and behavioural assessments and undergo a National Criminal History Check prior to an offer of employment.

Benefits

In exchange for your hard work, though, the rewards will be great. That competitive salary will be yours, along with enviable options for salary packaging. But that's not what you're here for. At the end of the day, your greatest reward will be the knowledge that you've helped your community to create better futures.

Compassion, Dignity, Inclusiveness and Integrity.

If these values are true to you and your passion to help create better lives for those that really need it then we would love to hear from you.

For a confidential discussion, you can speak with Melinda Carlyle on 0491 135 886 (during business hours).
