This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about supporting young people, and who wants to be part of a team making a real and lasting impact for young people in the Pilbara region. This is a full-time, ongoing role based in Hedland.

About us

headspace, Australia's National Youth Mental Health Foundation, provides vital early intervention mental health services to young people with mild to moderate mental health issues affecting their wellbeing.

Our mission is to improve the mental and social wellbeing of young people by providing services that are welcoming, friendly, supportive and culturally safe. We have delivered the headspace Pilbara outreach service for 3 years and are excited to now expand with two new centres in Karratha and Hedland. As we prepare for this expansion we are looking for amazing people to join our team.

About the role

Alongside the Service Manager headspace, the Clinical Lead will oversee the ongoing design, delivery and improvement of evidenced-based care to support young people's wellbeing, including providing clinical leadership, consultation and expertise to headspace staff, consortium and private practitioners, as well as engaging with local communities and key stakeholders.

To succeed in this role, you will have:

  • Tertiary level qualification in relevant clinical discipline including clinical psychology, psychology, mental health, mental health nursing, social work, or equivalent
  • Current full registration with (or eligibility for) related professional body or equivalent
  • Demonstrated experience and advanced clinical skills in a range of mental health service settings
  • Experience in complex clinical triage, assessment and referral
  • Leadership skills and demonstrated experience providing clinical supervision,
  • Proven track record of building and maintaining effective working relationships with a range of stakeholders
  • Highly developed cultural competency which will enable you to easily engage and build trust with people from diverse backgrounds, in particular Aboriginal communities.

Remuneration and Benefits

  • Full time salary $108,831 plus 10% super (includes Remote Area Allowance)
  • Generous rent subsidy $350 per week (eligibility criteria apply)
  • Salary packaging benefits up to $15,900 per annum
  • Access to purchase leave

The successful candidate must possess a current National Police Clearance valid within one year, Working With Children Check and a WA Drivers Licence.
