Anglicare has a long history of providing family and children support services, including family intervention, foster, and kinship care, counselling, relationship support, and much more. Our Foster & Kinship Care Programs provide children and young people who are not able to live with their own families the opportunity to live in a safe nurturing family environment.

Our amazing team has recently won Anglicare's inaugural Client Services Excellence Award and has been commended by external auditors on the team vibe and quality of service that we provide to foster carers. We are currently looking to add another Coordinator to our Gympie team to join the good vibes, lead and mentor our teams.

A typical day may include:

  • Supporting practitioners and Youth workers to ensure therapeutic, practical, and financial supports are coordinated
  • Overseeing Training and & Assessment
  • Providing the ongoing support of Foster and Kinship Carers and children ensuring their care is maintained
  • Ensuring in-home intensive intervention and support services to families is appropriate as per the service agreement requisites, where child protection issues have been identified as a significant concern

What we are looking for:

  • Applied knowledge and understanding of child protection and out-of-home care frameworks, including knowledge of the Child Protection Act (1999) and relevant legislation
  • Well-developed practice framework that is culturally sensitive
  • An ability to manage and provide appropriate team leadership and supervision
  • Demonstrated experience as a Child Protection Practitioner, ideally within an out of home care context
  • Demonstrated ability to respond appropriately in crisis situations including highly developed problem-solving, decision-making and negotiation skills
  • Ability to develop and maintain a working relationship with the Department of Communities (Child Safety Services) and other programs in order to enhance support to children and carers
  • Proven ability to work cooperatively in a team environment
  • Strong computer skills, including MS Word, Powerpoint, and Excel
  • Relevant experience within a community service or similar organisation (desired)
  • An understanding of quality management and continuous improvement processes and the Human Service Quality Standards (desired)

We also require the following Qualifications and Credentials:

  • Current Blue Card
  • Current Licensed Care Service (LCS)
  • Current Queensland Driver Licence
  • Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Human Services, Social or Behavioural Sciences or similar
  • A Certificate IV in Workplace Training, Assessment and Evaluation (desired)
