Your role

Assess risk working with complex families referred from The Hume Moreland Orange Door. Support change and maintain safety and improve relationships to help keep families together. Using casework but also developing your therapeutic skills to address mental health, family violence, AOD, trauma and behaviour.

About you

NB: We can offer support and training in these areas to new graduates

  • Experience or knowledge of Best Interest Principles as outlined within the Children, Youth and Families Act 2005
  • Family Services aims to support parents to ensure the social, emotional, educational, health and developmental needs for their children are met
  • A good understanding of the social context of child abuse and neglect and experience in applying relevant theoretical approaches to deliver outcomes
  • Experience in active engagement of vulnerable children, youth and families and delivering a range of interventions to improve their outcomes
  • Experience in conducting risk and needs assessments, and developing and implementing action plans
  • Skills in case management, including developing community linkages
  • A commitment to working with vulnerable children young people and families who have experienced trauma

Qualifications

  • A relevant tertiary qualification in Social Work or related discipline at degree level or diploma level with experience relevant to child welfare

  • Salary $82,000 to $86,000 plus super plus salary packaging (Level 5 SCHCADS)
