At Anglicare Victoria our focus is on transforming the futures of children and young people, families and adults. Our work is based on three guiding pillars, Prevent, Protect, Empower. We offer a comprehensive network of services and seek to ensure the provision of high quality services that will bring about significant improvements in the life experience of the young people, children and families/caregivers with whom we work.
We understand family violence and offer safe and confidential help for both the victims and the adults or adolescents who perpetrate it. Our experts are trained in working with families impacted by family violence, and we provide safe environments for all individuals that have experienced it. We also offer tailored programs for those who have been involved in violence in the home. We use an approach that emphasises the need for behaviour change, and that accountability for the impacts of violence must be placed on those that perpetuate the violence, not the victims.
This varied role includes co-facilitating Men's Behaviour Change Program, conducting assessments and providing tailored and structured solutions for each individual client, predominantly men. The role will also involve acting as a Key Worker and Case Manager, helping develop a man's internal motivation to complete a Men’s behaviour change program to address behaviours, accept responsibility, manage feelings safely and maintain strong, nurturing and caring relationships.
There are opportunities to offer individual therapeutic counselling that will follow men through personalised interventions, on an individual basis and in group work, online and in person. This variety allows the workers to use their strengths and a range of different skills and techniques.
