Your role:

This role will undertake Kinship Part B comprehensive assessments within the Kinship Care First Supports program. The role will also involve provision of Family Services and support. Additionally the role may involve Out of Home Care placement within children and young people placed within the Care Hub program. Strong collaboration and communication between Out of Home Care and Care Hub will be required within this role. 

The Care Hub:

The Care Hub will provide early assessment, planning and wrap around supports by a single integrated team (formed from a consortium of organisations) for children and young people who are first time entrants into care.

About you:

NB: We can offer support and training in these areas to new graduates

  • Experience managing risk and wellbeing and work within the Best Interest Framework
  • An understanding of how trauma can affect the development of young people
  • Solid understanding of the Child Protection and Welfare system in Victoria 
  • Excellent written, verbal and collaborative communication skills
  • Flexibility and adaptability to work in a busy and dynamic program
  • An empathy with AV’s Values and Mission to do better for Children, Young People and Families

 Qualifications:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification in Social Work or related discipline at degree level or diploma level with experience relevant to child welfare

 The important stuff:

  • Salary $82,000 to $86,000 plus super plus salary packaging (Level 5 SCHCADS)
  • Office location: Bendigo

Please Note: It is mandatory for the successful applicant to hold a current Working with Children Check and be prepared to undergo a National Criminal History Check prior to commencement.
