Your role:

This Senior Family Services Practitioner role involves the provision of an in-home family casework service, working in partnership with families with the aim of strengthening parenting capacity and family resilience. The work involves taking steps to reduce risks to children's safety and wellbeing and that of other family members, as well as working with families to empower them to manage their life situation and to take charge of their lives, including having a positive engagement with their community. 

An additional component of the role is to support the Team Leader in ensuring program objectives and policies are adhered to and in promoting a learning and supportive workplace culture.

About you:

  • Experience at a high level within children and families
  • Ability to lead, develop and mentor others
  • Experience or knowledge of Best Interest Principles as outlined within the Children, Youth and Families Act 2005
  • A commitment to working with vulnerable children young people and families who have experienced trauma

Qualifications:

A relevant degree in Social Work, Psychology, Early Childhood Specialist and/or a related degree in behavioural sciences, with substantial experience in the relevant service stream.

  • Salary $92,964 to $96,804 plus super plus salary packaging (Level 6 SCHCADS)

Please Note: It is mandatory for the successful applicant to hold a current Working with Children Check and be prepared to undergo a National Criminal History Check prior to commencement.
