The Position:

Gambler’s Help Therapeutic Counselling aims to minimise the personal, health and social harms for individuals experiencing gambling related harm. This is achieved through the provision of evidence based therapeutic counselling interventions across a range of modalities and practice settings appropriate to individual needs.

Who we are looking for:

  • A relevant qualification with demonstrable experience and eligibility for membership with one of the following:
  • Provisional registration with Psychology Board of Australia; or
  • Full, graduate or Accredited Mental Health Social Worker (AMHSW) membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers; or
  • Membership with Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia (PACFA) in the family/relationship therapy or general counselling/psychotherapy sections.
  • Membership with the Australian Counselling Association
  • An understanding of the impact of problem gambling on individuals, families and communities.
  • Along with your outstanding communication skills, experience providing casework practice to a diverse range of clients in a range of community settings.

What you need to know:

  • A salary at SCHCADS level 6 which equates to $49.07 per hour
  • Flexible through the increments up to 6.3 (dependent upon experience)
  • Based at our office in Bendigo
  • 2 days per week
  • Maximum term until June 30th 2024
