About the Position

You will provide culturally appropriate, youth centred, family focussed case management services and responsive direct support and assistance to young people aged 10 – 18 years (who have left the family home or who are at risk of early home leaving) and families based on agreed casework plans. Undertake group work, project work and community capacity building activities which strengthen the skills base of the target group and the early intervention capacity of the local service system.

To be successful in this role, you will hold a Qualifications in human Services / Social Sciences combined with at one to two (2-3) years direct experience working with high risk / vulnerable young people and families in community based environments (essential). Have knowledge of the child protection system and local youth, family & homelessness service system. Experience in the application of youth work practice frameworks, youth focused family friendly approaches and community capacity building strategies.

Please note: It is a requirement that prior to commencing in this role, you must possess a Working with Children Clearance (Ochre Card), a National Criminal History Check (within 3 months) and a current Northern Territory driver's licence.

Experience of working closely with and having a strong understanding of Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander culture would be considered an advantage.
