Who we are looking for

Ideally, you will be a diligent and friendly new lawyer (recent graduates may be considered) who can deeply understand, critically analyse and advocate clearly, both verbally and in writing, on a variety of matters including employment and administrative law matters. You are self-aware, level-headed, and passionate about the law and assisting people who may have been treated harshly, unjustly or unreasonably in the course of their employment.

What you will be working on

Under the supervision of ANMF Legal Counsel, you will:

• Have carriage of a modest caseload of employment-related matters/disputes, predominately arising from alleged breaches of Enterprise Agreements and/or the Fair Work Act 2009 (Cth)
• Oversee less complex Administrative Law matters
• Undertake in-depth research, and assist Legal Counsel in the preparation of matters, in the following areas:
  • Employment and Administrative Law
  • Workplace Discrimination and Human Rights Law
  • Work Health and Safety Law
• Provide information and support to members to assist in resolving individual matters
• Draft relevant applications and correspondence as required
• Provide legal and other support to ANMF Legal Counsel as required.
