What’s the job?

The Practice Leader exists to provide leadership and guidance to a team of Support Workers who have responsibility for the delivery of individualised, funded disability accommodation and support for adults. The role supports the team to ensure that a high quality service is provided to individuals in their home and community.

All supports provided must be consistent with legislative requirements, funding as per service agreements and organisational policies and procedures.

The Practice Leader will be an integral part in contributing to NDIS readiness and continuous improvement and quality of supports provided.

Key responsibilities include leading and engaging a team to provide high quality support to individuals that enable development of skills, meaningful participation and independence.

What we need from you:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Disability, Community Services, Individual Support or similar;
  • Clear NDIS Worker Screening Check;
  • Minimum 3 years team leadership experience;
  • Demonstrated ability to lead staff through a range of workplace change initiatives with particular emphasis on employee behavioural and workplace system change;
  • Experience in rostering to meet the needs of the participants as required;
  • Demonstrated experience in completing and following individual plans and assessments;
  • Capacity to exercise judgement, initiative, decisiveness, accountability and results orientation;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to adapt communication for audience and purpose;
  • Proven ability to give and receive feedback to enhance quality of supports provided;
  • Solid understanding of workplace guidelines, procedures and systems, i.e Supervision, Performance Development, Quality standards;
  • Coaching and mentoring approach to staff development within a culture of continuous quality improvement;
  • Current Level 2 First Aid (with at least 12 months until expiry) & CPR (with at least 6 months until expiry) Certificates or willingness to complete prior to commencement;
