The Australian National University (ANU) College of Engineering and Computer Science (CECS) is a vibrant and diverse community of more than three thousand students, staff, and visitors. The Professional Services Group provides expertise that supports the College in the successful delivery of its objectives. We achieve excellence in services by partnering and collaborating with academic staff, students and external partners, through embracing diversity of ideas to coming up with innovative solutions. Our expertise spans across Engagement, Community, Resources, combining strengths across each of these focused areas to identify and build strong collaborative relationships throughout our broad stakeholder base. 

Position overview 

This position is a fixed term appointment for a period of 1 year, contributing to day-to-day administration and team specific projects on a rotational basis, within the University's College of Engineering and Computer Science (CECS) Engagement, Community and Resources service teams. 

The Services Assistant will provide a comprehensive level of administrative and student facing support services, contributing to the efficient and effective provision of professional services to improve student transitions and experience, through liaising with their team, supervisor and relevant stakeholders across the College and wider University. 

The position will also collaborate with a range of stakeholders, including students, academic and professional staff and volunteers, while engaged in supporting the CECS community initiatives.

The Services Assistant Cadet - Diversity & Inclusion, will provide robust, personalised feedback and input on a wide range of policies, and provide assistance with procedures and initiatives, supporting the representation and achievement of First Nations peoples advancing the College’s and University’s strategic goals. 

Longer term and/or ongoing appointment may be offered in exceptional cases subject to performance and budget availability as well the candidate’s demonstrated capability and desire to complement the College’s strategic agendas in teaching, research and broader engagement within the University and community.
