About the opportunity

We are currently looking for a Clinician to be responsible for the delivery of court mandated assessment and treatment services to a case load of young people who have committed offences of a sexual nature. The primary focus of this role is as part of a team, to prevent youth sexual violence and abuse through the delivery of best practice interventions within a socio-ecological framework. This role includes extensive statewide travel and frequent and multiple overnight absences from your home location. Success in this role requires an ability to work independently, and accountably in collaboration with the young person, their family and a range of government and non-government stakeholders.

This is a fixed term (two years) full-time position with the possibility of further extension, based at the Mt Gravatt campus. It is expected that the successful candidate will be available to work onsite at Mt Gravatt, in person as a normal requirement of the role. Further, you may be required to work on either a temporary or an indefinite basis at any premises, which the University currently has or may subsequently acquire or at any premises at which it may from time to time provide services.

About you

To be successful within this role, you will be able to demonstrate a breadth and depth of professional skills in clinical forensic psychology or social work. You will have experience and expertise relevant to the engagement, assessment and treatment of young people who have committed offences of a sexual nature, their families and other stakeholders. You demonstrate well-developed skills and experience in clinical forensic report writing.

You have a sound knowledge of ethical and legal principles involved in intervention with forensic and/or non-voluntary clients. Additionally, you demonstrate an ability to work cooperatively and effectively with government and non-government agencies and with clients and their families through the use of well -developed communication, consultation and conflict resolution skills.

It is essential that you have knowledge of (or the ability to acquire knowledge of) social ecological case conceptualisation and ecological intervention techniques. You will have the ability to work sensitively and effectively with First People cultures and the issues that may impact upon them in contemporary society and in a forensic context. Additionally, you evidence a passion and strong ethical principles for working with court mandated youth from a diverse range of backgrounds, and their families.

Salary range

Base Salary $87,905 - $95,994 per annum. Salary package including 17% employer superannuation $102,848 - $112,313 per annum.
