The Australian Refugee Association Inc. (ARA) is a community-based organisation providing settlement, migration and other forms of assistance to refugees, migrants and other people of concern. ARA is seeking an experienced Case Manager to provide case management services and support to clients from migrant and refugee backgrounds who are at risk of or are experiencing family and domestic violence. The Case Manager – Domestic Violence will be responsible for delivering case management using child centred, survivor strengths and perpetrator pattern-based approach.

The Case Manager – Family and Domestic Violence will be responsible for:

  • Delivering client centred case management support for clients who are at risk of or are experiencing family and domestic violence
  • Developing individual safety plans and comprehensive case management plans and monitoring and reviewing client objectives and progression against these plans
  • Providing information, education and practical assistance to clients in line with relevant frameworks
  • Developing and undertaking appropriate referrals and collaborations with specialist service providers and facilitating case conferences as required
  • Advocating for clients needs and requirements
  • High level case noting and reporting to managers and funding bodies

The successful candidate will have:

  • A tertiary degree in a relevant field unless the equivalent knowledge has been attained through lesser qualifications and/or significant experience gained from previous appointments.
  • High level of knowledge in social work practices and application
  • Demonstrated experience in delivering support to individuals and families at risk of or experiencing domestic violence
  • A general understanding of the challenges faced by people from CALD backgrounds
  • Experience in providing client centred case management planning
  • Valid Police Clearance and Working with Children Check (or be willing to obtain before commencement of employment)
  • Completed Child Safe Environment Training and Responding to Abuse and Neglect Training (or be willing to obtain before commencement of employment)

This is a full time Level 4 position of the SCHCDS Industry Award until December 2022 with the possibility for extension. The role is based in Salisbury, South Australia.
