The Role

Reporting directly to the Executive Manager, this is a newly created opportunity for a self-driven, passionate individual with strong stakeholder management skills to support coordination of day-to-day engagement with clients, program participants, project partners, funding bodies and the broader community. The role is also responsible for the development and implementation of Arabic Welfare’s (AW) communication strategy, including development of promotional materials, organisational templates, and website content, and support with increasing social media/digital presence.

We support our clients to realise their aspirations toward full participation in Australian life, and work closely with service providers to achieve this goal. Arabic Welfare staff are bilingual and bicultural, and our team includes qualified and experienced social workers, counsellors, youth and community development workers and Registered Migration Agents.

Responsibilities

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Support AW project coordination including liaising with relevant staff, partners and funding bodies as required by Executive Manager.
  • Coordinate and/or support the delivery of physical and virtual events as part of the team, including all event related communications.
  • Research and review client related statistics - new and emerging trends, to inform development of new programs.
  • Conduct community consultations and implement evaluation plans to assess community needs and support communication of project outcomes and report writing.

Communication and Marketing:

  • Development and implementation of a communication and digital strategy.
  • Development of AW’s design and marketing guide, aligned with AW website to ensure consistency across all marketing materials.
  • Review, design and update of priority AW program brochures and related materials.
  • Design and update of AW internal forms and documents (ie. standard AW PPT templates).
  • Maintain AW website and write updated content.
  • Support with the development of community stories using various formats (ie. video).

Knowledge, skills and experience

  • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Demonstrable ability to display initiative, manage priorities, deal with multiple stakeholders, take responsibility for projects and show a proactive attitude.
  • Excellent strategic thinking, creativity and ability to problem solve.
  • Experience in development and implementation of communication and digital strategies.
  • Experience in the development and design of marketing materials, with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe editing tools.
  • In depth knowledge of migrant welfare services and service delivery.
  • High level report writing skills.
  • Bilingual – Fluent in both Arabic and English.

Qualifications

Tertiary qualification in marketing, communication or related field preferred.

  • Hold a current driver’s license
  • Have own vehicle
