Our compassionate team of staff and dedicated volunteers throughout the metro and regional areas, provide quality services and support to more than 10,000 children, youth, adults, and families affected by mental illness every year.

The role

We are looking for an enthusiastic Training and Development Officer to support the development and delivery of training and learning activities that build workforce capacity and drive continuous improvement. To be successful in this role you will need to be passionate about making a positive impact and have a willingness to work within HelpingMinds values.

This position sits within our Human Resources team and reports directly to the Executive People and Culture and is offered on a permanent full-time basis (38 hours per week). The position will be based out of our Perth office however some flexibility is offered around work from home and/or from other office locations across the Metro area.

About You

This is an opportunity for an enthusiastic Training & Development Officer with a genuine interest in working collaboratively to ensure effective team goals and organisational outcomes are met.

Minimum qualifications and experience:

  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in Learning and Development or Human Resources
  • National Police Clearance (valid within 6 months) & Current Drivers License
  • Current Driver’s License and reliable vehicle

Required skills:

  • Demonstrated experience in the development and delivery of a variety of learning activities, including facilitation of group training, one on one and e-learning.
  • Highlight developed presentation skills, including the ability to engage audience in different settings.
  • Demonstrated professional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively engage and build rapport with applicants, management and staff at all levels.
  • Demonstrated capacity to promote and uphold organisational values.
  • Demonstrated ability to support the identification of training needs throughout the organisation and deliver on this.
  • High level of proficiency regarding knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
  • Strong time management and organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated positive and proactive approach with a commitment to working towards organisational development .
  • Strong ability to work autonomously and within a team environment.

  • Base salary: $68,495 - $73,927 per annum (pro rata) plus 9.5% superannuation
  • Generous tax-free salary packaging benefits where you can package up to $15,900 per annum

  • Four weeks annual leave with 17.5% leave loading
  • Two additional wellness days per year to support your own mental health
