About the role

You will provide specialist support to regional and community level Yolŋu Youth Leadership Groups who oversee brokerage funds to invest in community youth initiatives. You will be the conduit of information between the leadership groups and participating organisations and services as well as responsible for managing communication and coordination of service delivery within the identified communities of the East Arnhem Land Youth Model.

This position is covering Maternity Leave until June 2022.

This position is based in Darwin with regular ongoing remote travel

Responsibilities

  • Support the creation of Yolŋu Youth leadership groups to oversee a variety of community led youth projects
  • Work with the groups to develop transparent governance arrangements that align with Yolŋu structures and values
  • Provide leadership groups to with access and visibility to financial management arrangements
  • Co-design and implement a community measurement, evaluation and learning framework reflecting the communities definition of success
  • Co-design and deliver a regional Yolŋu Youth Development Strategy in partnership with Yolŋu Youth leadership groups

Skills and Experience

  • Formal qualifications in Youth Services, Community Development or similar
  • Demonstrated experience in undertaking cross cultural consultation
  • Demonstrated experience in program design and an understanding of design logic
  • Experience delivering projects with a variety of stakeholders with competing priorities
  • Effective communicator with strong oral and written skills
  • Ability to work autonomously
