About the role

Reporting to the Training Team Leader, and whilst travelling extensively through remote communities deliver training and assessment to predominantly Indigenous Retail Division employees from non-English speaking backgrounds.

Responsibilities

  • Provide onsite and online workplace training of nationally accredited courses and units of competency following NVR and AQF standards.
  • Undertake language, literacy, and numeracy assessments.
  • Assist workplace coaches to deliver quality industry training.
  • Mentor, coach, and guide students in person when in remote communities.
  • Mentor, coach, and guide students, online, by video, and on the telephone when in Darwin.
  • Maintain and update the electronic student records database.
  • Correctly perform and assist in the enrolment and signup process of all students.
  • Provide administration support as required to the Training Team Leader.
  • When in remote settings represent ALPA with relevant stakeholders including community leaders, local government, business operators, ALPA entities, and schools.

Skills and Experience

  • Extensive experience working in a remote Retail services setting.
  • Experience in delivering a broad range of training programs, using in-person and remote learning, within a blended learning approach for a large multi-disciplinary organisation. Attainment of Retail or Community Services qualifications
  • Experience using an electronic student management system.
  • Attainment of a TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.
  • Attainment of a Certificate III or higher in Retail.
  • An unrestricted NT C class driver's license or ability to obtain.
  • Highly effective interpersonal skills including proficient written and oral communication skills that can be adapted to meet the needs of people from all education levels, language abilities, and ethnic origin.
