About the role

The remote Language Literacy Numeracy (LLN) Training Officer is responsible for the delivery of Language, Literacy and Numeracy programs to students with low LLN, deliver foundation skills units, conduct LLN assessments and other training programs as required in remote communities. This role requires regular travel to remote communities to deliver Fee for Service programs. You will be working 3 weeks in community and 1 week from the Darwin support Office. ensuring that the quality management measures are maintained across all training operations and associated activities.

This position will see you working across various remote communities in the NT.

In this key position your day will include:

  • Provide onsite and online workplace training NVR and AQF standards.
  • Undertake language, literacy, and numeracy assessments.
  • Assist workplace coaches to deliver quality training.
  • Develop individual training plans with structured 12-month competency goals.
  • Mentor, coach, and guide students in person, online, by video, and on the telephone.
  • When in remote settings represent ALPA with relevant stakeholders including community leaders, local government, business operators, ALPA entities, and schools.

The successful candidate will have:

  • A minimum of three years’ experience in delivering a broad range of training programs, using in person and remote learning, within a blended learning approach for a large multi-disciplinary organisation.
  • Experience using an electronic student management system.
  • Attainment of a TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.
  • Attainment of TAESS00009 Address Foundation Skills in Vocational Practice Skill Set
  • Ability to commit to the regular travel requirements
  • An unrestricted NT C class driver's license or ability to obtain.
  • Highly effective interpersonal skills including proficient written and oral communication skills that can be adapted to meet the needs of people from all education levels, language abilities, and ethnic origin.
