About the role

Reporting to the Team Leader - First Nations Programs this new position will drive the success of the recently created Care Entry Program for Residential and In-Home Care in the Alice Springs region. The prime focus of this role is to ensure our First Nations people in the region have job opportunities, but engagement with other local residents who do not identify but want to enter the Care Industry will be key to your role. 

You will work alongside the local People and Culture Partner and thrive on engaging with Employment Providers, Local residents and other stakeholders that may not have considered a career in care. In alignment with our Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP), you will support people to ensure their success where no other opportunities have been presented.

Your success in this role will come from seeing the people you engage in the program thrive and succeed in the new career path they've chosen, including developing First Nations people across the Alice Springs region including Mutijulu, Docker River and Tennant Creek to reach their career goals.

    Your position duties will include:

    • Induction Program: Facilitating a regular Care Induction program of (2) two weeks empowering confidence and educating skills in Personal Care whilst partnering with Employment providers and our RTO to provide a supported entry, encourage positive focused buddy/mentors and providing an opportunity for a formal training outcome
    • Development Planning: Ensure all employees undertaking the Care Induction program have regular check-in/touch points to ensure any concerns are addressed early and career goals are recognised and planned.
    • Stakeholder Engagement: Closely partnering with providers such as CDP/Employment Services and the general public interested in Care Careers to drive engagement sessions to ensure the program has a regular cohort of participants seeking formal employment outcome.
    • Reporting: Measure data and metrics for the program including success/challenges and areas for opportunity. This includes working with Training Providers and ensuring students receive support through the Care Program to achieve end outcome.
    • Reconciliation Action Plan: Ensure actions are culturally appropriate and in alignment with the ARRCS RAP in partnership with the Indigenous Engagement team. 
    • Regional Engagement: Provide support to the wider region of Tennant Creek, Mutitjulu and Docker River to provide support to First Nations employees to succeed in employment outcomes.
