About the Role:

A Children's Service Leader is responsible for the everyday support, coordination and operation of their assigned services. They provide leadership and coaching of services' support staff. The Children's Service Leader, leads a team of Support Workers in the support of children and young people engaged and/or living in our services. They ensure high quality support is provided to the children and young people and routines and processes are embedded consistently and effectively across services. The Children's Service Leader focus is to engaged with Support Workers and guide trauma informed and therapeutic supports to children and young people and ensure the best possible outcomes are achieved.

Must haves…

  • Thorough practical working knowledge of:
  • Human rights based approach
  • Person-centred approach
  • Children's' Non-Family-Based Out-of-Home Care
  • Child Protection & Child Safe Principles and NDIS Framework
  • Legislative requirements relevant to the role
  • Diploma of Child, Youth and Family Intervention or equivalent
  • Experience leading/supervising staff in Community Services
  • Strong coordination, leadership and peer support skills.
  • High level communication, influencing, liaison and negotiation skills.
  • Strong project administrative skills; time management, coordination of tasks, efficient work practices
  • Excellent computer literacy and confidence and capability in using systems and technology
  • Obtain and maintain Licensed Care Service Check (LCS QLD)
  • Obtain and maintain NDIS Worker Screening Check
  • Obtain and maintain relevant state Working with Children Check
  • Obtain and maintain First Aid and CPR certificate
  • Complete Hope and Healing Modules (QLD)
  • Obtain and maintain all relevant vaccinations (including COVID-19 for new employees)
  • Current Australian Class 1 Drivers Licence
