About the Role:

You will be part of a dynamic and inclusive business enterprise that provides opportunities for people with disabilities to be employed alongside other trade-skilled team members, to maintain a wide variety of sites across the Forbes and surrounding locations for our commercial clients.

You will work alongside team leaders to assist supported employees to carry out gardening, cleaning, and general maintenance to maintain a wide variety of sites for our commercial clients as well as contribute to enhancing the lives of people with a disability and achieving agreed operational and financial goals.

The environment is extremely supportive and friendly, and the role offers the opportunity to lead, guide and motivate.

What success looks like:

  • Experience within a landscape maintenance or horticulture industry
  • Supported employees are assisted to develop new skills and achieve employment goals
  • Tasks are completed with consistent instructions from team leaders and supervisors, as well as meeting contract specifications and scheduling requirements
  • Accidents, injuries, and near misses are reported immediately. Hazards and risks were identified and acted upon or referred to the team leader for action in a timely manner.

What you need to be successful in this role…

  • A demonstrated commitment to the Aruma Code of Conduct.
  • A high level of physical fitness to meet the manual handling and environmental requirements of the position.
  • Ability to work independently and/ or collaboratively as a team member.
  • Sound verbal and written communication and ability to assess when to escalate issues.
  • Ability to use technical skills to solve maintenance and site issues.
  • White card, basic understanding of WHS requirements.
  • A current driver's license
  • Working with Children Check or Qld Blue Card.
  • NDIS Working Screening Check clearance
  • National Police check

Skills and Experience which will make you stand out

Nice to have's OR Desirable:

  • Experience with working with people with disabilities, particularly in a service provision context.
  • A confirmation record of COVID-19 vaccination (dose 1 & 2).
