We are currently seeking an experienced Physiotherapist who will utilise their skills and knowledge in Physiotherapy. You will provide flexible family-centred services to children and adults with a disability and their families, within the context of a multidisciplinary team and maintain efficient and effective practices in line with Aruma policies and procedures.

What success looks like:

  • Assess the Physiotherapy needs of children and adults utilising appropriate assessments and investigation processes
  • Develop professional relationships with families, which respect individual styles and acknowledge their strengths and capabilities
  • Provide assistance and support to families to enable them to identify their priorities and make informed decisions
  • Provide the family with appropriate information about all other available services which are relevant to the family and the child or customer with a disability and arrange any referrals if required
  • Provide written assessment reports, including comprehensive recommendations, when necessary
  • Participate in the formulation, implementation and evaluation of individualised physiotherapy service plans
  • Develop, record, monitor and regularly review individualised physiotherapy goals in relation to children's Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and the adults NDIS goals
  • Provide individual and/or group intervention sessions to address physiotherapy goals
  • Provide interventions that promote learning and physiotherapy sessions through play and/or active participation for both adults and children, in both centre and home based settings

Must haves…

  • Tertiary qualifications in Physiotherapy
  • Membership of Australian Physiotherapy Association (or the capacity to be a member)
  • Driver's Licence
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Current Working with Children Check
  • Be willing to provide an NDIS Worker Check (NDISWC) Clearance
  • Be willing to provide a confirmation record of COVID-19 vaccination (dose 1 & 2)
  • Be willing to undergo a police check
  • Commitment to the ethos and ethics of the organisation

Nice to haves…

  • Demonstrated knowledge of child development and family-centred practice
  • Knowledge of the National and State Disability Services Act, Disability Discrimination Act, and any other relevant legislation and its implications for service delivery
  • Demonstrated ability to support children and adults with developmental delays, autism spectrum disorders and other disabilities and their families in a range of issues
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain positive, sensitive relationships between children, customers, staff, parents and caregivers
  • Demonstrated ability to support staff and impart skills and programming information to other service providers
  • Energetic, active personality with the ability to be part of a passionate team, acknowledging and valuing gains children and customers make with a positive attitude
  • Capacity to manage a diverse workload, prioritise and meet deadlines in a responsive manner
