An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and motivated individual to join the Summerland Farm team, in the role of Horticulturalist Team Leader. In this role you will provide effective supervision and support to a small team to carry out the day to day operations of our site services. You will be required to provide specific coaching, sometimes on a one to one basis, that enable our employees with a disability to develop skills to meet key performance outcomes.

This role will suit someone with experience in landscaping and grounds maintenance, with a particular emphasis on horticulture. Skills in nursery/propagation and green keeping will also be advantageous.

  • You identified individual skillsets for diverse team members, to leverage strengths that contributed to team and business outcomes
  • You provided effective coaching, and sensitive management of diverse needs.

Essential Criteria

  • A commitment to the Summerland Farm and Aruma's Code of Conduct
  • Demonstrated experience in landscaping and ground maintenance
  • Demonstrated experience in supervising employees and or teams
  • A practical understanding of WHS requirements
  • Sufficient physical fitness to meet the manual handling and environmental requirements of the position
  • A current Australian driver's licence.

Nice to have:

  • Formal qualifications in Horticulture or another relevant trade
  • Formal leadership training (such as Cert IV or Diploma of Frontline Management)
  • Previous experience working with people with disabilities
  • Experience in plant propagation and green keeping.
