About the Role

Fulfilling a crucial role in the donor experience journey this volunteer will be responsible for outbound calls to warm audiences or current supporters to thank them for their support of our various appeals, campaigns, fundraisers, or as regular givers. This role provides an inspiring, effective, and engaging donor experience to increase loyalty and commitment through thank-you phone calls to our supporters and donors.

PROGRAM: GIving and Experience PROGRAM

The Giving and Experience Team is responsible for ASRC’s fundraising, philanthropic and grant efforts, including appeals, grants, regular giving, gifts in wills, mid-value giving, major donors, philanthropic trusts, community fundraising and events, a $25 million portfolio. This sits alongside overall responsibility for the ASRC supporter experience, which encompasses both financial and non-financial donor portfolios. The Team oversees strategies to ensure significant engagement retention of the donor database through exceptional supporter experiences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide support to the Giving & Experience team by calling first-time givers and existing donors to welcome and thank them for their support
  • Provide support to the Community & Events team by calling event hosts or participants to thank them for running an event
  • Engage with existing donors updating them on our work, thanking them for their support, and providing a touchpoint for the donor to the organisation
  • Maintaining data in the Salesforce database

Accountability

This role reports to the Community & Events/Supporter Experience within the Giving and Experience Team.

Location

ASRC Footscray (flexible work arrangements available, travel to other ASRC sites may be required).

What we are looking for

Essential:

  • High level of spoken English communication skills (Minimum level 4)
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships

Desirable:

  • Good understanding of technology including the Google suite
  • Experience as a direct marketer - call centre, door-to-door, or on-street sales
  • Knowledge of and experience working with Salesforce
  • Previous experience using cloud-based contact software
  • The lived experience of seeking asylum

Volunteer shifts

Ideally, we are looking for a minimum 6-month commitment. Volunteering opportunities are available Monday through Friday, 10 am to 4 pm, or outside business hours by prior agreement.

Compliance

All offers of employment, paid or voluntary are subject to a satisfactory Criminal History Check and provision of a valid Working with Children Check prior to commencement.
