About the role

Assist newly arrived individuals, groups and communities of culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds (especially those from refugee backgrounds) to better understand and independently access the Tasmanian health system.

What you will bring 

  • Fluency in Dari and Farsi language is essential and Hazaragi is highly valued
  • Demonstrated understanding of the issues affecting culturally and linguistically diverse newly arrived communities, especially those with a refugee background
  • Ability to assist with planning and coordinating information or training sessions
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Interpersonal skills with the ability to connect with a wide range of people from diverse backgrounds
  • Understanding of health issues that affect new arrivals and their connection to the Tasmanian health system
