About the role

As a Complex Caseworker, you will provide casework support to migrants in transition through Red Cross Emergency Relief and for people who have been trafficked, subject to labour exploitation or forced into marriage.

You will also contribute to the co-design process and adapt and innovate ways of working in order to improve Red Cross’ response to the needs of migrants in transition.

What you will bring

  • Proven ability to provide high quality casework support and complex case management including holistically assessing client needs, conducting risk assessments, and developing effective case plans and safety planning
  • Demonstrated cultural competence and the ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds who have experienced grief, loss, torture, and trauma and who experience ongoing safety risks.
  • A sound understanding of the social political issues and needs impacting migrants in transition
  • Skills and experience in a variety of client practice approaches and frameworks and self-awareness and ability to critically reflect on practice
  • Demonstrated effectiveness in interagency collaboration and ability to negotiate, lead collaboration, advocate and network with internal and external stakeholders
  • Well-developed interpersonal and written communication skills
  • Qualification in Social Work or equivalent

A Working with Children Check and Driver’s License are mandatory requirements of this role.
