About the role

The Complex Caseworker will provide casework support to migrants in transition who access the FDV pilot program and require further support.

Conduct holistic assessments of complex client strengths and needs using the Strengths and Needs.

Assessment Framework (SANAF), and family violence risk assessments (this can include complex mental health and child protection risk assessments) and develop and implement appropriate case plans and safety planning with a focus on enhancing the safety of women and children.

What you will bring:

• Proven ability to provide high quality casework support and complex case management
• Demonstrated understanding of how to holistically assess complex client needs, including conducting family violence risk assessments, and developing effective case plans and safety planning
• Demonstrated understanding of contemporary family issues including family and domestic violence; the physical, emotional, psychological and behaviour impact of trauma and abuse; homelessness; child protection; poverty; mental health; AOD and knowledge of support services available to address these issues
• Demonstrated understanding of how to holistically assess complex client needs, including conducting family violence risk assessments, and developing effective case plans and safety planning
• A sound understanding of the social political issues and needs impacting migrants in transition, in particular the impact the COVID-19 pandemic has had on migrants in transition
