Growing Regions of Welcome (GROW) is a Multicultural NSW initiative. In Western Sydney, the Regional Employment Hub is established to provide a gateway for newcomer talent. This role is to engage interested newcomer job seekers, connect them with suitable employment opportunities in the Murray and Riverina regions, and help them make informed decisions about relocating and facilitate their relocation.

About the role

The NSW GROW Project Officer will be responsible for working with newcomer talent to identify skills, experience, and relocation expectations and aspirations.

Through a casework approach, the Project Officer will develop individual relocation plans and then connect candidates with job opportunities in the Murray and Riverina.

Working closely with the NSW GROW Program Lead, and other sector partners, the Project Officer will utilise a community development approach to outreach to communities that could benefit from the opportunities that GROW offers.

What you will bring

• Demonstrated quality casework and case management skills, especially in a cross-cultural setting
• Recruitment experience, conducting pre-interview conversations across multiple role types 
• Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to forge effective relationships with a wide range of key stakeholders
• Strong positive problem solving
• Facilitate group and individual activities, workshops, and information sessions, through structured and non-structured sessions
• Well-developed understanding of refugee and resettlement experience
• Ability to manage complex and sensitive issues with absolute discretion in a highly complex environment
• Relevant tertiary qualifications, skills, and/or experience in Social Work, Psychological Services, Diploma of Community Services or Bachelor of Applied Sciences

Current Drivers License, and a Working with Children check is a mandatory requirements for this role
