About the role

You will play a pivotal role in supporting the research and evaluation functions of the ADF. Together with other members of your team, your love for writing about issues that impact on our community will enable you to provide evidence of the impact our programs have for community members and for their continued improvement. This is essential to ensure the ADF delivers the best outcomes for our staff, community members and funders. This is an exciting position working in a close team providing you the opportunity to inspire positive change in our community to prevent and reduce harms relating to alcohol and other drugs.

As the successful candidate, you will:

  • Develop written web-based content using credible evidence-based sources and respond to media enquiries.
  • Connect and collaborate with external stakeholders to share information and deliver on specialist projects.
  • Work with your team to identify current AOD trends and provide your recommendations for content development and translate evidence to support content development.
  • Utilise your excellent listening and customer service skills to empathetically support people through the DrugInfo phone line and email service, providing information and advice on a range of issues relating to AOD.

About you

You'll have a broad knowledge of alcohol and other drug issues and/or public health perspectives, and you will possess excellent time management skills and a demonstrated ability to effectively and independently manage several competing tasks and deadlines.

You'll also:

  • Demonstrate critical and analytical thinking and/or research expertise with demonstrated ability to research and summarise information from reputable sources.
  • Possess a high level of written communication, with knowledge of the principles of writing for various audiences.
  • Have excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to relate to people at all levels in a professional and friendly manner.
  • The successful candidate for this role must be willing to undergo a Working with Children and Police check
