The Role

As a Senior Community Development Officer, you would be joining an energetic team to assist in innovative solutions delivering ADF programs and projects to local communities, strengthening resilience and building capacity to reduce the impact of alcohol and other drug related harm.

You will also be:

  • Delivering innovative ADF programs, utilising a range of delivery methods within the community
  • Creating and following up on new leads in a committed, energetic, and connecting manner
  • Navigating different scenarios with complex stakeholders and groups across a range of different organisations and be able to manage and drive sensitive meetings
  • Supporting the delivery of regional forums, promote, and represent the ADF and its programs and initiatives
  • Promote and support the Alcohol and Drug Foundation's programs, exploring opportunities relating to partnership building, capacity building, and the engagement of sport clubs and communities.

Please note: Due to the location of communities and sporting clubs it is likely that frequent travel will be required.

About You

As the successful candidate, you must be motivated by our values and have a broad, deep appreciation of what it takes to meet targets whilst truly engaging our communities. You will understand and have community development and health promotion experience.

You will be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Excellent verbal, presentation, and written skills, with exceptional stakeholder management experience including the ability to maintain agility, resolve conflict, solve problems, and conduct sensitive and/or complex negotiations
  • Self-confidence and the ability to succeed within a community and sports environment
  • Experience and the ability to deliver programs using a range of strategies and technologies that ensure quality and productivity is not compromised.
  • Would suit someone who has a solid understanding of influence and development in a community sports setting.
  • The successful candidate for this role must be willing to undergo a Working with Children and Police check.
