The Position

The Australian Greens are seeking a person to join our national team to ensure the many people who will be getting involved in the forthcoming federal election campaign are trained and supported in their use of our campaigning and organising systems so their experience with us and our systems is positive and productive.

This role is to ensure that people make good use of our systems related training resources and that they receive ad hoc support as required.

Expectations

  • Develop systems related training resources, in partnership with the systems team.
  • Ensure all training resources are loaded and appropriately organised on our Training Hub and assist in filling gaps in training resources as they are identified.
  • Support the ongoing delivery of online training sessions for users across the country.
  • Support users to find and access the available systems training resources.
  • Support the Australian Greens IT help desk with its servicing of ad hoc requests.
  • Engage in the workplace according to the organisational values described below.
  • Undertake other tasks as reasonably directed.

Selection Criteria

  • An understanding of, and commitment to, Greens’ principles.
  • Adept at learning new IT systems.
  • Strong communication skills — the ability to write and speak clearly to effectively communicate complex ideas in a way that is easy to understand.
  • Experience writing how-to guides, FAQs, producing short tutorial videos, and similar materials to help people learn new skills.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to work proactively to solve problems.
  • A demonstrable commitment to learning and sharing of knowledge.
  • An appropriate Australian or New Zealand work visa (if applicable).

Bonus points for

  • Experience as a help desk technician or other support role.
  • Experience with the Party’s systems including Rocket, gVIRS, Drupal and CiviCRM.

Relationship to Others

Management supervision by: National Manager

Daily work supervision by: National Systems Liaison Coordinator

Works closely with: Other staff and volunteers across the Party involved in AG’s IT systems

Location

The base of activity for this position is negotiable with the National Manager.

Conditions

This position will begin at three to four days per week with the aim of increasing to full-time upon either the federal election being called or January 2022, whichever occurs first. The contract will finish two weeks after the election.

The normal span of hours for this position will include the hours between 4pm and 8pm AEST of the days worked to ensure reasonable availability for volunteer training and support requests.

The position is subject to the conditions of the “The Australian Greens Staff Collective Agreement”.

The classification for this position is Support 2 with the salary commencing at Level 2 for $75,429 pro rata, plus 10% superannuation.
