Join us at the Australian Museum and help us achieve our Mission to ignite wonder, inspire debate and drive change.
Funded under a 2-year grant program through the Australian Museum Foundation, the Wansolmoana Connect program supports the vision of the Pasifika Collections & Engagement team within the First Nations Division at the AM that young Pasifika peoples are connected, empowered, and inspiring members of their communities.
The Wansolmoana Connect program offers a range of meaningful participation opportunities for Pasifika community members and youth. Program participants will have the opportunity to engage with, and expand their understanding of Pasifika peoples, science, history, and knowledge.
The Wansolmoana Connect Officer, First Nations provides creative support, coordination, and engagement opportunities for Pasifika communities, youth (including students) in diaspora in NSW to connect with the AM’s Pasifika Collections and the new Pasifika Gallery, titled Wansolmoana. This role is involved in delivering the Wansolmoana Connect program and related initiatives for the Pasifika communities in NSW. The role is part time 3 days per week, temporary for 1 year, with the opportunity of extension.
In consultation with the Manager, Pasifika Collections & Engagement and Director, First Nations, the Wansolmoana Connect Officer will work collaboratively alongside other Pasifika staff at the AM to learn, collaborate, develop and share information, participate in hosting AM visits, and contribute to broader planning work around broader AM First Nations strategic initiatives and programs.
Please note candidates will be informed of the result in mid-January 2024, and the employment starts in February 2024
