Are you looking for an opportunity to lead and support veterinary practitioners and business leaders in the development and delivery of strategic objectives in the field of veterinary business?

This is a varied and dynamic role partnering with a volunteer member executive committee to coordinate business plans and implement membership development initiatives that align with our strategic priorities. Duties include:

  • Liaising with a number of the AVA Special Interest Groups, building depth of commitment and engagement to the association
  • Coordination and implementation of timely and relevant communication to members of the group
  • Assist in the development of advocacy plans and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders
  • Membership coordination, including the promotion of member benefits & maintaining up-to-date records
  • Continuing professional development (CPD) management; inclusive of annual conference, regular webinars and other leadership training activities
  • Governance and financial management looking after financial activity and preparation of reporting. Identify alternative sources of funding including grants, and sponsorships.

We have an exciting opportunity to join the AVA, providing strong leadership and growth of one of our groups. Whilst operating within the common interests of the AVA, this is an opportunity to develop and support the needs of veterinary professionals, connecting the profession and practices.

This role offers the opportunity to be based nationally working in conjunction with our head office located in St Leonards, NSW. Some evening and weekend work will be required, along with occasional travel. You will be supported by a dedicated team and have access to other specialist expertise within AVA.

As our ideal candidate, you will be able to demonstrate:

  • tertiary qualifications in business, management, marketing or similar
  • strong commercial acumen and proven budget management competence
  • proven communication skills – verbal, written and presentation
  • exceptional stakeholder management experience
  • strong initiative and an innovative approach to the achievement of outcomes
  • well-developed influence and engagement skills
  • experience in balancing strategic and operational priorities
  • experience in leading projects and working collaboratively
  • leadership and management skills in a cross functional organisation, including virtual teams
  • exposure and affinity with the veterinary profession

You'll need to have a passion for making a positive impact with the sustainable growth of the group within the context of an evolving professional membership association.
