Purpose and Scope

Autism Awareness Australia is a national non-for-profit based in Sydney. We provide quality, evidence-based information/resources, educational programs and community events to empower autism families to support their loved ones on the spectrum. We are looking for a full-time, marketing and fundraising coordinator to join our team. The focus of the role will be assisting the senior management team to execute our national marketing, events and fundraising campaigns.

Who are we looking for?

  • A bright, positive, smart person who knows how to ‘get shit done’
  • Someone who knows their way around a Mac computer. We gave up PCs years ago!
  • Someone who is confident in managing social media channels with a large and diverse audience
  • Someone with a solid understanding of CRM, donor management systems and/or third-party fundraising platforms, such as Grassrootz or Funraisin
  • An exceptional communicator, who can write and speak to people from a broad range of backgrounds
  • Someone who is highly organised and able to manage multiple projects on the go, under tight timeframes
  • Has experience collaborating and working as part of a team but is comfortable working on their own. We don’t have time to micromanage!
  • Someone who is happy to be wearing multiple different hats whilst pitching in to support a small team when required
  • Strong administration skills with an eye for detail
  • Someone who is resourceful and can think outside the box
  • You will be judged on your ability to think quickly and enjoy a laugh
  • A drive to work in a field where you make a real impact in people's lives
  • Common sense and compassion is a must
  • Experience in fundraising and marketing essential
  • Lived experience and/or an understanding of autism is preferred however not essential. The successful candidate must be keen to learn about and understand autism, as well as the tone and culture at Autism Awareness Australia.

Key Tasks

  • Assist with all aspects of event management to deliver our annual events and campaigns calendar, including event logistics, content development, catering, technical, travel and registration
  • Managing speakers, sponsors, stakeholders and guests
  • Managing with the development and sourcing of social media content
  • Assisting with scheduling/monitoring across 5 social media channels
  • Design and develop some social media and marketing assets using Canva
  • Producing monthly e-newsletter - including sourcing content and writing articles
  • Stock management of event collateral as well as working to develop and design digital collateral - in partnership with our designer
  • Assist with the design and delivery of an integrated fundraising strategy, including campaigns, peer to peer, appeals, grants, sponsorships, merchandise and events
  • Creating compelling propositions and creative briefs that reflect our brand and strategic direction
  • Plan and implement the donor journey, including ongoing development of collateral as required
  • Be the main point of contact for donor and fundraiser enquiries
  • Manage all volunteers
  • Support the Head of Fundraising and Partnerships to deliver all fundraising and sponsorship programs across the year
  • Support the Head of Marketing and communications to deliver all events and marketing campaigns across the year
  • Assist with the management of our CRM, fundraising platforms and website
  • Prepare reports and assist with the management of marketing and fundraising budgets
  • Ability to travel interstate as required
