About the Role

Our EarlyAQtion Kindi team based in Sunnybank Hills have an exciting opportunity for an experienced registered Speech Pathologist, Teacher or Occupational Therapist to join and collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to provide quality early years education & therapy support for children on the autism spectrum & their families. 

In consultation with families and relevant internal & external stakeholders, the Group Leader will be responsible for leading and coordinating quality evidence-based early intervention group programs, addressing individualised support needs of children on the autism spectrum & their families. Additional therapy input is provided from alternate allied-health disciplines on a weekly basis. 

This role is being offered on a permanent part-time basis for 4 days per week being Tuesday to Friday. 

  • Tuesdays - dedicated administration work time (ie. planning; resource-making; parent meetings & home/site visits).

Skills & Experience

  • Tertiary qualification in Education or Special Education, Occupational Therapy or Speech Pathology & relevant registration/membership
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Teacher (preferably in Early Years education), Occupational Therapist or Speech Pathologist
  • Demonstrated understanding of contemporary methodologies in the provision of early intervention for children on the autism spectrum or other developmental challenges, and their families
  • Proven knowledge of child development, communication, social interaction, learning and understanding and managing behaviour
  • Understanding and experience in the design and implementation of direct (individual and/or group) and consultation-based support and intervention which is responsive to the individual needs of children, their families, and other relevant stakeholders

Special Conditions & Requirements 

  • Evidence of current COVID-19 Vaccination
  • Blue Card & NDIS Worker Screening Clearance**
  • Provide First Aid inc. Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certificate
