Australian Volunteers Program

About the assignment

The assignment is to support Impact Fund’s project entitled “Innovative Seaweed Breeding and Seeding for Women Empowerment”. The project is seeking to introduce a more innovative approach to the business model and financial supply chain management (FSCM), which not only concerns finance but also how it functions for the whole supply chain.

The expertise available locally is more on the technical aspect of this supply chain (seaweed farming) and the social aspect, but not specifically on the business model aspect. Further expertise is needed to explore more possibilities of business development or FSCM approaches and scenarios for Small Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in Savu, a small island in East Nusa Tenggara.

The assignment will comprise a literature review and best practices review on how SMEs can be managed equitably and sustainably. The assignment will deal with context-specific problem setting such as smallholder farmers' financial problems on a macro scale, such as advocating good management for resource governance to keep the supply chain sustainable.
