About the Partner Organisation:

Port Moresby Nature Park was launched 11 June, 2012 to take over the management of the site formerly known as the National Botanical Gardens, which was established in 1971 but over the years had become extremely run‐down and virtually non‐operational. Since opening, the Nature Park has been hard at work developing itself into PNG’s leading recreational attraction. This has included the development of the entire organisation through strong training and mentoring programs, implementation of the 2020 Master Plan, Business Plans and Strategic Plans.

The Park utilises Web and Facebook pages as platforms for marketing and communications with the general public. Although currently functional, our existing staff are lacking required skills to administer these platforms.

This position will partner with the marketing team to share up‐to‐date knowledge and skills in the application of IT‐based multimedia solutions suited to the nature of our organisation. It will be responsible for reviewing the Nature Park’s Web and Facebook pages to identify where alternative methods of media may be beneficial in raising the profile of the Park.

 About the Position:

  • You'll train and mentor Marketing Department staff on various technological products that may be new to the team
  • You'll require strong knowledge of using multimedia tools within a business context as well as demonstrated ability in working in
  • This role will allow you to gain experience in growing skills in an important local organisation whilst being in close proximity to the gardens

We actively support and encourage people of all backgrounds and abilities to volunteer internationally and aim to make the program as accessible and inclusive as possible. - Find out more
