Inherit Your Rights (IYR) works to address legal and customary norms that discriminate against women and restrict their opportunities to participate as equal economic citizens, particularly through the realisation of inheritance rights and land ownership, and customary practices which allow and promote their physical harm. Mission: To educate, empower and represent women and girls, including widows, in the Arusha area of Tanzania, about their legal and basic human rights. 

Vision: To build an effective vehicle to empower individuals to stand up for their rights as well as equality and justice. Their approach is three-fold and focuses on education, empowerment and representation. 

• You'll have assisted IYR to build its profile and to enhance its partnerships including with donors, sponsors and in-kind supporters and in doing so the volunteer will develop the capacity of local team members in related skills.
• You'll have Postgraduate qualifications in communications, public relations, or related field – this is a requirement the Tanzanian permit applications along with demonstrated work experience in communications and/or donor relations.
• You'll gain invaluable experience becoming part of the community of Arusha, where the Tanzanians are very hospitable and welcoming people.
