We’re looking for a Planning, Monitoring, Evaluation and Report Mentor who can live and volunteer in Timor Leste for 12 Months. Join the Australian Volunteers Program to contribute to sustainable development across Asia Archipelago.
Estrela Plus was established in 2009 on the belief that HIV-positive people must have a voice in addressing vital issues that affect their lives and that they themselves must be responsible for decision-making with people living with HIV. Despite the progress that has been made in reducing the risk and impact of HIV in Timor-Leste, significant challenges remain for people living with HIV in Timor-Leste. Awareness of the rights of people living with HIV and AIDS in Timor-Leste remains low particularly for people already living with HIV, their families, and communities as well as the general public. As a result, people living with HIV continue to experience high levels of stigma and discrimination both in community and health care settings. . Other challenges include low levels of antiretroviral therapy adherence and difficulties faced by people living with HIV in accessing care and support services. As a result, Estrela Plus works within the community to create awareness for individuals living with HIV. With an increase in new cases of HIV-AIDS Estrela + aim is to reduce stigma and discrimination against people living with HIV. Therefore, Estrela+ has a unique opportunity for an individual to volunteer in Timor, this role will see you support the area of planning, Monitoring, Evaluation, and Reporting and provide the capacity building to its entire team. Be a part of the change, you'll gain access to personal and professional development, gain global experience and you will be working towards improving the lives of people living in Timor.
We actively support and encourage people of all backgrounds and abilities to volunteer internationally and aim to make the program as accessible and inclusive as possible. Find out more
