About the Partner Organisation: 

Touch Roots Africa (TRA) is a non-profit organisation which was established in 2004 to respond to the growing demand throughout Lesotho for care and support for the growing number of orphaned and vulnerable children due to HIV, AIDS and poverty. TRA aims to strengthen the capacity of children, youth, community-based organisations, local authorities and service providers around care and support. TRA's vision is to be a sustainable socio-economic and development organisation and their mission is to empower people around their socio-economic needs.

The global COVID19 pandemic has had a devastating effect on fundraising initiatives and TRA wishes to engage an experienced fundraiser to enable them to tap into larger funding opportunities that would allow them to build a diverse funder pool. The volunteer will bring fresh ideas and a new approach to fundraising and income development to their organisation. The successful candidate will support the organisation with identifying funding sources for programs and core costs. 

About the Position: 

• In this assignment you will assist to improve fund sourcing and fundraising management within the organisation through the research and development of funding proposals and drafting request letters to potential donors and private sectors funders.
• To be successful for the role you will have a proven track record in fundraising including research of funding opportunities, potential donors and donor requirements. You will also be familiar with proposal development.
