About the assignment

ADBMI was formed in 2000 as an alliance of advocacy groups, Family of Indonesian Migrant labours, Migrant labours, local Women activists which people live and work in East Lombok. ADBMI Foundation has produced 436 new entrepreneurs from the migrant workers group, 2 local regulators, 29 Village Rules for the protection of Migrant Workers and their families, Facilitated and Organised CBO (Community Base Organisation) formation in 32 Villages of 254 Villages in East Lombok.

20 years since their establishment, ADBMI has been helping the local community in East Lombok, especially migrant labourers. There are many stories that have happened during those years that could be shared as part of work promotion or could be beneficial for other organisations with similar or different focus. Due to a lack of capacity of local staff, ADBMI are unable to build and improve on their social media presence to share these stories widely. There is a website and social media presence, however they do not attract much online traffic. The social media/content specialist will help us manage those platforms, create interesting content from the stories (include photos) to be uploaded. This will help ADBMI in promoting their works and attract more visitors, raising awareness for migrant issues.

  • In this role you will develop and manage social media content for the organisation
  • You will require experience and skill in content creation
  • Understanding of Bahasa Indonesia is not necessary, but willingness to learn the small amounts you may need will be beneficial
  • This assignment will ideally grow the organisation's social media capabilities and allow them to run it independently in future
