BABI Youth & Family Service is recognised as a leading organisation for the provision of high quality housing, employment, educational and social inclusion programs for young people in the local (Bayside) area. BABI has a vacancy for a part-time Youth Development Coordinator in its Wynnum Office.
This position requires an experienced individual who can demonstrate excellent project management, youth engagement and community development skills. The Youth Development Coordinator will be responsible for the establishment and management of the Community Youth Space (CYS), including support and guidance for the CYS Team comprising of youth workers and volunteers.
The position will support CYS Team of youth workers to successfully and safely deliver a number of weekly programs and activities to local youth, focusing on positive youth engagement and developing young people’s personal and social skills. The Youth Development Coordinator will also have a significant role in program promotions, program planning (monthly/weekly activity plans), managing staff rosters and developing and managing data collection and evaluation framework for the project, as well as reporting requirements. Well-developed collaborative and partnership building skills will be highly regarded. Skills and knowledge in working with at-risk young people is essential.
The role would suit a skilled worker or a leader with a minimum of diploma level qualifications in the youth work, community or human services field. A minimum of two years’ experience in working with at-risk young people, preferably in a not-for-profit agency environment is also required. Experience working with or a desire to work alongside at-risk young people is essential.
The position is paid in accordance with the Queensland Community Services and Crisis Assistance Award – State 2008 (TPEO) at Level 5. BABI offers Salary Sacrifice Packages as well.
