Balanggarra Aboriginal Corporation RNTBC (Balanggarra PBC) is a progressive Aboriginal organisation tasked with managing Balanggarra native title lands in the North and East Kimberley, through strategic healthy country planning and a range of commercial, cultural and research initiatives.

Balanggarra PBC is looking for an experienced and exceptional Program Officer on a full-time basis to join our team, reporting to the general manager.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to develop concepts and project briefs for board consideration, including support to the Balanggarra tourism strategy and related initiatives
  • Work closely with the directors and the general manager to develop grant applications to support ongoing capacity development of Balanggarra PBC
  • Coordinate with the Balanggarra Ventures team, currently focused on managing the Home Valley tourism facility, and the Balanggarra Land and Sea Management Unit
  • Organise and assist at meetings as required
  • Provide support to and participate in field trips
  • Develop work plans and operational support for our teams
  • Contribute to the care and maintenance of the office, supplies and equipment
  • Assist with drafting and creating media and communications such as newsletters, social media content and website content
  • Ensure compliance with all Balanggarra PBC policies and procedures
  • Ensure adherence to all health and safety requirements
  • Provide administration, operational and planning support as required
  • Other duties as requested

Essential Skills and Qualifications

  • 3 years of experience with Indigenous or not-for-profit organisations
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint (essential)
  • Full driving licence (essential)
  • Communication skills
